Then, today i will recommend to you one place in Chaing Mai where you can discover a great number of elephants with their lovely talent and this place located not far away from Chaing Mai city center as this place is called "MaeSa Elephant Camp".

Driving only 20 minutes from Chiang Mai city center, you will arrive at MaeSa Elephant Camp located in Mae Rim District. This camp is outstanding in its fantatic elephant show and other wonderful elephant activities like riding elephants around the area of this elephant camp (with additional cost). The ticket price to see the elepant show is 120 baht for adult and 80 baht for children under 12 which is affordable price for travelers and the show time will start at

Playing football, basketball, dart, harmonica etc. are the example of incredible activities performed by the lovely big animal that you will see in the show. However, the most fantastic show of Maesa’s elephant are drawing beautiful images.

Elephants in this camp in Chaing Mai have their own special ability to draw pictures like the great artist such as the image of the tree, mountain, landscape etc. and they can also draw the image of rabbit Chinese zodiac. If you love those incredible picture draw by talent elephants, you can choose to buy those wonderful performance work at the price around 3,000 – 8,000 baht per picture.

Unseen Mountain Scenery at Doi Pha Hom Pok, Chaing Mai

Good to see everybody again and today i will continue telling the story about outstanding mountain in Chaing Mai.

 

Generally, Chiang Mai is very popular in its scenery of mountain as there’re many wonderful  "Doi" (mountain in local northern language) located around the area of this province.  Today, i’m gonna tell you about one of the most outstanding natural places that you can’t miss when visiting Chaing Mai as this natural site called “Doi Pha Hom Pok”

 

Doi Pha Hom Pok is the 2nd highest mountain in Thailand located in Fang District. In order to reach to the camping site of this mountain, you have to drive 4 wheels car due to the pathway to the camping site is quite hilly and steep as it is really hard to travel this mountain without 4 wheels car. Don't worry if you don’t have your own 4 wheels car because you can hire local drivers with their own  4 wheels car available at the Office of Fang National Park at the rate of 1,500-2,000 baht.

The distance between Fang National Park to Doi Pha Hom Pok camping site is approximately 1 hour as the camping site has been developed by the Fang National Park, therefore, the camping site is very convenient for travellers including clean bathroom and toilet. Moreover, camping tent is available for you to hire at cheap price as well.

 

The most favorite activity in Doi Pha Hom Pok that you can't miss is “walking to the top of this mountain” as you will have a chance to see the scenery of beautiful sunrise contrast with mountain view and cloud. You may need around 2.30-3 hours for trekking to the top, therefore, you have to begin your journey from the camping site around 3.00-3.30 AM. I recommend to you that you have to bring your flashlight because the pathway is very dim and dark and it is also recommend that you should make appointment with the natural park officer or the local driver who will lead you to the summit point because you may get loss in the forest if you don't know the right way.

 

Doi Pha Hom Pok in Chaing Mai, Thailand

After 3 hours of walking in the forest,  you will arrive at the top of Doi Pha Hom Pok, the 2nd highest mountain in Thailand. The sea of fog contrast with the sunrise is the scenery that you will discover at this point and you can't miss to take photo with the "2nd Highest Mountain in Thailand wooden Board".

 

The viewpointt of this mountain is one of the most gorgeous place that i’ve ever seen.  Furthermore, Doi Pha Hom is also outstanding place for Bird Watcher as you may discover rare breed of bird residing in this area, then, if you're Bird Watcher, this place is recommend for you.

New Year vacation has just passed and during the vacation most of Thai travelers usually have a camping trip to famous camping sites in the northern region of Thailand like Doi Ang Klang in Chaing Mai, Phu Chee Fah in Chaing Rai or Pai District in Mae Hong Son where you will find thousands travelers camping at those favorite travel spots during New Year vacation and it is really hard to find accommodation in those outstanding places.

Certainly, you may want to avoid such kind of busy situation during your vacation, then, today i will recommend to you the new camping site located near the city center of Chaing Mai (around 40 minutes for city center) as this place is known as “Mon Cham” or “Doi Mon Cham”.

In general, Mon Cham, the lonely hill in Mae Rim District, is the agricultural station where the villagers use to cultivate winter plant. Due to this site has its own extraordinary atmosphere, therefore, at the end of the year 2009, Mon Cham has been developed to the new travel spot in Chaing Mai which is called “Mon Cham Camping Resort”. It is easy to reach the hill of Mon Cham because this place is only 40 minutes from Chaing Mai city center and the road to the camping site is quite good for all types of car, 4 wd car is not essential.

When you arrived at Mon Cham Camping Resort, you will discover fantastic scenery of mountain view as you may see from the image together with beautiful winter flowers and vegetables glowed in this site.  The camping resort is very convenience because there’re bathroom including hot water available for you and there’re plenty of camping tent available for rent at the rate of 800 baht per night for small size tent (2 person) and 1,200 baht per night for big size tent (4 person). Please note that BBQ, the most famous food for camping, is allowed in this station but you have to pay at the rate of 100 baht per person. 

How to go to Mon Cham-Drive to highway number 107 to Mae Rim District
-Turn left at the 17th kilometers to the highway number 1096
-Follow the sign post to “Mon Cham”.

See Fantastic Mountain Scenery at Doi Ang Klang, Chaing Mai

Doi AngKlang Royal Agricultural Station

In my last post, i just introduce this new blog about Chaing Mai, nice city in the northern region of Thailand, to all of you, then, today i'm gonna start expressing story about one of Chaing Mai famous mountain and the mountain that i talk about named "Doi Ang Klang".

Doi Ang Klang situatated in Fang district, northern district near Myanmar border and the distance from the Chaing Mai city center is approximately 137 kilometers. This beautiful mountain is known as one of the most coldest place in Thailand as the temperature will below 10C in the winter, therefore, many Thai travellers would like to experience such cold weather at this site. Doi Ang Klang is not only famous in its fantastic mountain scenery but also outstanding in its tough and slant road which is the one of the great lesson for drivers to test.

Doi Angklang Viewpoint

At the summit point of the mountain, there're 2-3 sites available for camping as the camping site is very convenience because there're bathroom and rest room available for you. However, if you want more comfortable, you can also book your room at the Angklang Nature Resort as well. In the evening, most tourists are now waiting to see the scenenery of the beautiful sunset which is very fascinating for me. You will discover the gorgous scenery of mountain together at the viewpoint of Doi Angklang.

The next morning, i plan to visit other favorite site of Doi Ang Klang that you can't miss. This site  called "Royal Agricultural Station AngKlang". You will have a chance to discover flowers and plants that usually grow in the western countries like maple, tulip and many more cold weather flowers. One thing that i recommend is you can't miss to taste flesh kiwi grow in this station because the kiwi is very delicious and very cheap. Also, other fruits like strawberry and grape are available for you with affordable price as well.

At last, i would like to say that Doi Ang Klang is amazing place for travellers because you will have a chance to experience cold weather, see beautiful scenery of mountain and taste flesh fruits. However, i recommend that it will be better for you to hire for local drivers to bring you to the summit point of doi Angklang because the road to the top of Doi Ang Klang is very danger for rookie drivers.
