Unseen Mountain Scenery at Doi Pha Hom Pok, Chaing Mai

Good to see everybody again and today i will continue telling the story about outstanding mountain in Chaing Mai.

 

Generally, Chiang Mai is very popular in its scenery of mountain as there’re many wonderful  "Doi" (mountain in local northern language) located around the area of this province.  Today, i’m gonna tell you about one of the most outstanding natural places that you can’t miss when visiting Chaing Mai as this natural site called “Doi Pha Hom Pok”

 

Doi Pha Hom Pok is the 2nd highest mountain in Thailand located in Fang District. In order to reach to the camping site of this mountain, you have to drive 4 wheels car due to the pathway to the camping site is quite hilly and steep as it is really hard to travel this mountain without 4 wheels car. Don't worry if you don’t have your own 4 wheels car because you can hire local drivers with their own  4 wheels car available at the Office of Fang National Park at the rate of 1,500-2,000 baht.

The distance between Fang National Park to Doi Pha Hom Pok camping site is approximately 1 hour as the camping site has been developed by the Fang National Park, therefore, the camping site is very convenient for travellers including clean bathroom and toilet. Moreover, camping tent is available for you to hire at cheap price as well.

 

The most favorite activity in Doi Pha Hom Pok that you can't miss is “walking to the top of this mountain” as you will have a chance to see the scenery of beautiful sunrise contrast with mountain view and cloud. You may need around 2.30-3 hours for trekking to the top, therefore, you have to begin your journey from the camping site around 3.00-3.30 AM. I recommend to you that you have to bring your flashlight because the pathway is very dim and dark and it is also recommend that you should make appointment with the natural park officer or the local driver who will lead you to the summit point because you may get loss in the forest if you don't know the right way.

 

Doi Pha Hom Pok in Chaing Mai, Thailand

After 3 hours of walking in the forest,  you will arrive at the top of Doi Pha Hom Pok, the 2nd highest mountain in Thailand. The sea of fog contrast with the sunrise is the scenery that you will discover at this point and you can't miss to take photo with the "2nd Highest Mountain in Thailand wooden Board".

 

The viewpointt of this mountain is one of the most gorgeous place that i’ve ever seen.  Furthermore, Doi Pha Hom is also outstanding place for Bird Watcher as you may discover rare breed of bird residing in this area, then, if you're Bird Watcher, this place is recommend for you.
